Buffett declared that he intended to give more than 80 percent of his wealth to charities. He increased that amount to 99.9 percent in 2020. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the main beneficiary. It was created by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder as well as his wife Melinda. They focused on health and education in the world. Bill and Buffett have been close to each other since the beginning of the 1990s. The three Buffett children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (named after his wife) were among the organizations that received donations. They were concerned with women's reproductive rights, funded college scholarships, and other charities. In 2010, Buffett and Gates formulated the Giving Pledge. This pledge allowed other wealthy individuals to give the majority of their wealth to charitable causes.
